Just as the title says, you run (choose from multiple weapons) and shoot, while the game constantly throws enemies from all sides at you. You get to configure your controls, although what there is of the game still feels pretty rough around the edges. There are some nice touches though but no sound. www.perfectrun.net...

Through the array of experiments, you see what kinds of abuse NES cartridges can take. Download jot’s cover of the cue shade from Mega Man 3 (psst it’s the strain in the credits) here: www.4shared.com

    1. Destroying them is a mortal sin.
    2. They’re tough enough that I used Nintendo equipment in my time machine.

Awesome video! I never really thought about the durability of games discs compared to cartridges. I have had to buy a new copy of a game due to scratches or just over use. No Fireworks in Canada?!?! That is egregious!!

Of course NES cartridges can take a lot of abuse. I fucking DESPISE DISCS! You always gotta be careful with them. You can’t let it get scratched, you can’t let it get dusty or else it wont read right. Every time you hold it, you gotta hold the sides or stick your finger through the middle so it won’t get dirty. I mean, its like what the fuck! And discs break like in 5 seconds, when you drop it once, it will never work the same again.
  5. WhoaItsJose5 says:
DS cartridges have the same resilience.
Mine have been through the washing machine a few times and have yet to show any permanent signs of damage.

There is a test that cd based game could pass and NES cart don’t: it’s EMP (electromagnetic pulse). So if after a nuclear war you find a disc game and a NES cart maybe the disc could still work.

My NES works so well, I just recently bought a new pin connector. And when it comes to washing GBA games my friend accidently did that to Super Mario Advance (Super Mario World) and it still worked, ‘cept it couldn’t save your information.

My NES works pretty well, but I have to stick some tape over the Power button for it to stay on, and some games are a bit glitchy until I re-insert it a few times. Anyone know how to fix the Power button spring?
